Message from the President

Stephen Faul

Every day, I’m privileged to see the many ways that literacy transforms lives.

I hear first-hand stories from our learners about the enormous impact of our programs. The ability to read and write can improve lives in so many ways—from helping kids with their homework, to completing a job application, to following the directions on a prescription.

This year, we published Literacy and Essential Skills as a Poverty Reduction Strategy, a national research report that highlights the vital connection between literacy and our standard of living. A key message of this report is that it is necessary for governments to recognize literacy as a human right. Also this year, we expanded our programs throughout the country, meaning that we are reaching more people than ever before.

I want to thank our fantastic staff team at Frontier College and our dedicated volunteers, partners, and funders—none of this would be possible without you.

I also want to thank our learners for letting us be a part of your journey.

As we look to the future, we are beginning a new strategic planning process that we anticipate will allow us to make even greater impact—stay tuned!
